UCATSA NEWCASTLE COMMUNITY FORUM - "WHO WOULD JESUS BOMB?"
Donna Mulhearn on "Peacemaking in a Violent World".

University of Newcastle, Shortland side of the campus, BBQ outside CT Building, Forum in SRLT3 (Located along from Mathematics towards Drama but in the Geography Precinct)

Peace activist, Donna Mulhearn, was a human shield during the war in Iraq. She later returned to Iraq under occupation as a humanitarian aid worker to set up a shelter for street kids in Baghdad and support refugee families. During this time she survived constant bombing, being kidnapped by fighters, and being shot at by American soldiers while delivering aid in Fallujah. She is a former journalist and political adviser who is now an independent writer on non- violence, spirituality and politics. Her latest Middle East trip included her third visit to Iraq as well as four months in the West Bank of Palestine. She now does talks around Australia, continues fundraising for projects in Iraq and is working on publishing her writings. She is currently on trial after being arrested for breaking into Pine Gap military base last year as part of a small group called Christians Against All Terrorism ... Donna is inspired by the radical Christian teaching of non-violence as a way of life.
