a morning mark

I left a morning mark on the pavement of today
cold was the brush but warmed up to my mood
impulses rise up and hinder my way
making me stop
stand still
and express

if I carried dignity with as much success
as I carry my burdens of baggage
(you know the kind)
I wonder if things might be made a little easier on me
but the concierge in me won’t comply
..he’s strengthened by a heavy load
(more so by a heavy wallet)
and I give him larger tips these days…
he drains from my supply
and if only I could dump this load of mine
but I’d forget who I’ve been
the concierge would die
and I’d have no answers for my future ‘whys’
with no history, of what would I comprise?

folkies in the bar

i'm sitting in the uni-bar as the folkies get set up for their first uni-bar gig. Its been an amazing privilege to watch this group form over the last few months. Under the subtle lead of Dave 'Guitarman' Harman, the diverse group stand on stage with madoline, guitar, fiddle & flute in hand. this punter hides behind his laptop offering any excuse not to join them on stage... yet someone has to savor the moment....

they've just started... and what a damn great sound!

Congratulations to Dave and all the UOW folkies
